My sound sticks are not to be confused with traditional rain sticks. They are not intended to imitate the sound of rain nor do I consider them to possess mystical powers.
Their sounds emanate from the composition of the tube, exterior embellishments, various interior inclusions, and end cap materials.
Visual representations of sound (words and images) add to the richness of the soundstick experience.
The fiber techniques used these works include crochet, weaving, punchneedle embroidery, felting, knotting, beading, sewing and wrapping.
